HPIO releases fact sheet on employer-sponsored insurance trends in Ohio

In order to assist policymakers to better understand the employer-sponsored insurance market, the Health Policy Institute of Ohio has created a new two-page fact sheet titled “Ohio Insurance Basics: A closer look at trends in employer-sponsored insurance (ESI)” (pdf).

The fact sheet includes information on the decline of Ohio employers offering health coverage, trends in health premiums and employer share of costs and ESI and low-wage workers.

Much of the information in the fact sheet is taken from Ohio Insurance Basics, a publication that HPIO released in October. Among the topics covered in the full Ohio Health Insurance Basics are how Ohioans are covered, health insurance regulation, plan design, and regulatory changes to private insurance in the ACA.
