Convenings and trainings
Overview
HPIO brings together diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration, build capacity and drive policy action. We design events to translate research into practice, creating space for shared learning, dialogue and problem-solving. Below are examples of convenings and trainings hosted by HPIO.

Equitable evaluation training in Columbus

Evaluation for Impact: Closing Health Gaps in Columbus
With support from the Columbus Foundation, HPIO hosted an interactive workshop with information and resources about how to use data and evaluation to advance equity in central Ohio. Using resources from HPIO’s Equity Evaluation Toolkit, this workshop was designed to build capacity among public and private partners to measure and evaluate their work, communicate about their successes and challenges, and drive toward policy and systems change. Participants also heard from a panel of local organizations using data and evaluation to advance equity within their organizations.
As part of this training, HPIO produced and shared a data snapshot, "Closing Health Gaps in Columbus", that explores the underlying reasons why some groups of Columbus residents live shorter and less healthy lives. The snapshot also includes resources that outline effective strategies that state and local leaders can use to address inequities and increase opportunities for health and well-being in Columbus.
