Ohio ACA enrollment climbs in February

Enrollment in the federally facilitated insurance marketplace created through the ACA rose more than 30 percent in February in Ohio, a federal report released Tuesday shows (Source: “Obamacare enrollment up 30% in Feb. for Ohio, Ind.,” Cincinnati Enquirer, March 11, 2014).

Nearly 4.2 million Americans have signed up for private health insurance plans since the October launch of the federally run online marketplaces. In Ohio, 78,925 individuals had selected a new health insurance plan on HealthCare.gov, up from 60,112 in January.

By March 31, most adult Americans under age 65 are required to have health insurance or pay a fine when they file their 2014 taxes next year.
