Obama touts ACA benefits

In a campaign-style speech on Thursday, President Obama hailed an ACA that will enable more than 8.5 million Americans to get a rebate from their insurance providers, and also touted a new federal report that asserts asserting that in 11 states (including Ohio) and the District of Columbia, proposed health insurance premiums for 2014 were nearly 20 percent lower than the administration had projected  (Source: “Speaking Out for Health Care Act, Obama Says Millions Will Get Rebates,” New York Times, July 19, 2013).

The new Department of Health and Human Services report concluded that the premium rates in the individual market in 11 select states (including Ohio) are about 20 percent lower than earlier government projections.
