HPIO to host 'Health Policy vs. Health Politics" forum
The Health Policy Institute of Ohio will host a forum titled "Health Policy vs. Health Politics: Moving toward a civil discourse" from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at Sheraton Columbus Hotel at Capital Square, 75 East State Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
Health policy has become one of the most hot-button, emotional issues in public policy. Yet, in an increasingly politically partisan atmosphere, substantive civil dialogue about the merits of various health policy approaches has been lacking.
By bringing together two leading, national health policy experts, HPIO will provide an opportunity to learn from and engage in a civil discourse around key health policy issues that are under consideration by Ohio’s policymakers. Through this forum, we will encourage a rich, interactive, and fact-based discussion among policymakers and other participants.
Featured Speakers:
- Avik Roy, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research
- Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress
A panel discussion will follow featuring representatives from Ohio's General Assembly.
Registration begins at 9:30 am, with program to follow at 10:00 am.
