HPIO releases 'Ohio Insurance Basics'

The Health Policy Institute of Ohio has released the latest in its series of "Basics" policy briefs: Ohio Health Insurance Basics (pdf, 18 pages).

Modeled after HPIO's popular Ohio Medicaid Basics, the paper provides an overview of health insurance in Ohio. Among the topics covered in the Ohio Health Insurance Basics are how Ohioans are covered, health insurance regulation, plan design, and regulatory changes to private insurance in the ACA.

The release comes one week after HPIO released Ohio Access Basics (pdf, 28 pages). That paper provides an overview of access to health care in Ohio including topics such as barriers to access, oral health access, mental health access, health disparities and a description of the health care safety net in Ohio.
