HPIO releases Ohio Access Basics
At its forum this week titled "Coverage and Beyond: Understanding how coverage and access to care impact Ohioans," the Health Policy Institute of Ohio released its latest policy brief, Ohio Access Basics (pdf, 28 pages).
Modeled after HPIO's Ohio Medicaid Basics, the paper provides an overview of access to health care in Ohio. Among the topics covered in the paper are health insurance, barriers to access, oral health access, mental health access, health disparities and a description of the health care safety net in Ohio.
HPIO also has posted all of the presentations from the access forum on its website at www.hpio.net/events. Presenters at the event included Alan Weil, Executive Director, National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP); John McCarthy, Ohio Medicaid Director; Dr. Sharon Hull, Professor, Family and Community Medicine at NEOMED and Medical Director of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) Collaborative; and Angela Cornelius Dawson, Executive Director, Ohio Commission on Minority Health.
