HPIO creates spreadsheet of health provisions in state budget

In an effort to better understand the health-related provisions in the newly adopted biennium budget, HPIO has created an overview spreadsheet.

The new document is titled “HB 153 2012-2013 Budget Overview:  Key Health Care Provisions” (NOTE: clicking link will automatically download Microsoft Excel spreadsheet).

Organized by department, the chart includes:

  • a list of key issues,
  • a summary of associated budget language,
  • reference to Ohio Revised Code Section,
  • the line item allocation supporting that issue (when available), and
  • if agency rules are anticipated.

The issues are also sorted into the relevant HPIO Strategic Objective —Access to Care, Payment Reform, Health and Wellness, and Data Transparency.

It is important to note, however, that the document is a summary of key budget provisions related to health care. It is not an analysis nor does it include implications of, or commentary on, the various provisions. It is intended to provide readers with baseline information to inform their own research and monitoring needs.
