HPIO forum to explore innovative health communication, evidence-based programs

On June 24, HPIO will be hosting a conversation about capitalizing on opportunities to improve health and wellness in our communities and workplaces through collaboration, cutting-egde messaging and evidence-based programs.

“Promoting Wellness and Prevention: Why evidence-based practice and creative messaging matter,” will feature Elizabeth Carger, Senior Manager of Public Policy and Social Marketing with Olson Zaltman Associates, who will share the findings of her nationally-recognized research on how framing and language have important implications when communicating to both policymakers and voters.

Terry Allan, Health Commissioner for the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, also will discuss how evidence-based interventions can be used to engage the entire community in efforts to improve population health outcomes.

The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be held at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank in Grove City.  The cost of the event is $30. To register, visit http://www.cvent.com/d/sdqyhz/1Q.
