Cincinnati area hospitals join ‘Aligning Forces’ quality initiative

Five Cincinnati-area hospitals announced this week that they will be joining a national intitiative to improve quality of care (Source: “Hospitals team to improve care,” Cincinnati Enquirer, Dec. 14, 2010).

The hospitals are forming the Hospital Quality Network on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Aligning Forces for Quality initiative, which has set up similar collaboratives in 16 other cities across the county.

Hospitals in Southeastern Indiana, Oxford and Avondale will address reducing readmissions, two hospitals in Northern Kentucky will work on improving the speed of emergency care and the Avondale hospital also will attempt to improve its language services.
