Washington County schools to be studied for air pollution effects

Marietta College and the University of Cincinnati are partnering on a study of the effects of air pollution on students in Washington County (Source: “Testing Air Pollution's Effect on Children's Health,” WTAP.com, Jan. 12, 2009).

The Southeastern Ohio county’s schools ranked in the top four percentile nationally in a recent USA Today analysis of EPA data on air pollution in schools.

"I'm interested in the quality of air that children breathe, and then how it affects their health," Dr. Erin Haynes of the University of Cincinnati said.
