Access HealthColumbus to expand care at city health clinics

Access HealthColumbus will use newly raised funds to expand care at five health clinics in Columbus and improve access to health care through an electronic medical records system. (Source: "Health clinics plan to do more," Columbus Dispatch, March 14, 2008.) The clinic expansion will likely serve 8,400 new patients, while the electronic medical record system will give doctors more time to see additional patients. The money for the expansion and other work was raised by a public/private partnership, with the Franklin County commissioners committing $250,000, the Columbus Foundation giving $80,000 and the Columbus Medical Association donating $70,000.
