EPA revokes scientific finding at center of U.S. climate change action

The Trump administration this week revoked a scientific finding that long has been the central basis for U.S. action to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and fight climate change, the White House announced (Source: “Trump EPA set to repeal scientific finding that serves as basis for U.S. climate change policy,” Associated Press, Feb. 10).
 
The Environmental Protection Agency issued a final rule rescinding a 2009 government declaration known as the endangerment finding. That Obama-era policy determined that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare.
