HPIO to host online forum on reducing infant mortality

The Health Policy Institute of Ohio is hosting an online forum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, to explore recommendations to reduce infant mortality in Ohio.

HPIO recently released a policy brief, along with a series of action guides and tools with recommendations to reduce disparities as well as improve community conditions that lead to infant mortality.

This forum will encourage collaboration across sectors through facilitated small groups. Small groups will focus on the following areas: housing, transportation, education, employment and racism.

Speakers include HPIO and the following guests:

  • Dr. Mary Applegate, Medical Director, Ohio Department of Medicaid
  • Marisa P. Weisel, Deputy Director, Strategic Initiatives, Ohio Department of Medicaid
  • Shannon Jones, President and CEO, Groundwork Ohio
