HPIO is hosting a webinar from 1 p.m.  to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 29, on its latest publication, Ohio Medicaid Basics 2023.

HPIO Policy Analyst Edith Nkenganyi will provide a high-level overview of Ohio’s Medicaid program including eligibility, covered services, delivery systems, financing and spending, as well as updates on the state’s Medicaid system. Guest speaker, Elizabeth Hinton, will explore how Medicaid can be leveraged to address social drivers of health and health-related social needs.

Ohio Medicaid provides healthcare coverage for about 3.6 million Ohioans. Federal and state spending on the program accounts for about 39% of the state budget. 

HPIO has released Medicaid Basics every two years since 2005. In addition to providing an overview of the program, this 10th edition details recent issues, such as the COVID-19 public health emergency and updates to Medicaid Managed Care, and describes how they affect enrollment and spending.
