HPIO releases update to Ohio Medicaid Basics

The Health Policy Institute of Ohio has released its latest publication titled "Ohio Medicaid Basics UpDATE:: Recent Trends in Enrollment and Spending."

The brief is an update to HPIO's biennial publication, Ohio Medicaid Basics.

The publication provides new data about enrollment and spending during SFYs 2017 and 2018 and describes connections between enrollment and spending growth in Ohio's Medicaid program.

Overall, the report found that Medicaid enrollment appears to be stabilizing and per member per month spending growth has averaged 1.6 percent since SFY 2015, within the limits set by the General Assembly's Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee.

HPIO also released all of the graphics from the new publication as a PowerPoint deck that can be used in presentations on Medicaid in Ohio.
