CBO: ACA repeal would leave 18 million more uninsured

A report released this week by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office concluded that repealing the ACA without a replacement would leave 18 million people without health insurance within a year and send costs skyrocketing (Source: “Lack of Obamacare replacement would leave 18 million uninsured, CBO says,” Cleveland Plain Dealer, Jan. 17, 2017).

The CBO report says the number of uninsured would increase to 32 million by 2026. Premiums for individual policies would increase 20 to 25 percent within the first year, and would double by 2026.
