Ohio increases funding for addiction recovery housing

Ohio has awarded an additional $2.5 million in grants to fund housing for people recovering from drug and alcohol problems (Source: “State grants $2.5 million to create more beds for those recovering from addiction,” Columbus Dispatch, Nov. 24, 2015).

The new money brings total funding for recovery housing to $12.5 million over three years, according to the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Grants will go to 25 projects in 18 counties, adding about 200 more beds to the supply for recovery housing.  Another $2.5 million is expected to be released in the next fiscal year, enabling the state to fund about 1,000 total new beds statewide.
