HPIO releases brief on Medicaid redetermination

The Health Policy Institute of Ohio has released its latest brief, titled “Medicaid Redetermination and Renewal in Ohio.”

Annual Medicaid redeterminations resumed in Ohio in 2015 after a year-long suspension while the state implemented a new eligibility methodology and system.  There have been numerous challenges to the redetermination process, resulting in low uptake by current Medicaid recipients and the loss of benefits.

This new brief provides information about the Medicaid redetermination and renewal process in Ohio, including why a consumer-friendly and efficient system is important, challenges facing the process, and potential effects on Ohioans.
