HPIO brief explores state prevention spending

The Health Policy Institute of Ohio has released its latest brief, titled “Ohio prevention basics: A closer look at prevention spending.”

As Ohio policymakers respond to the significant burden of preventable health problems, it is important to have an understanding of the current allocation of resources toward prevention.  This new brief provides a first step in quantifying Ohio’s public investments in prevention.

As a supplement to “Ohio prevention basics” (released on 2014), “A closer look at prevention spending” describes expenditures for Ohio’s five state health agencies (the departments of Aging, Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health and Addiction Services, Health and Medicaid).
