HPIO to host forum on tobacco cessation, addiction

The Health Policy Institute of Ohio is hosting a forum in June to explore the science of nicotine addiction, including research on the reasons why tobacco use is more common among people with serious mental illness and those living in poverty.

“Breaking the addiction: Policy pathways toward effective tobacco cessation and prevention for all Ohioans,” will take place from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 1, at the Ohio Union at the Ohio State University, 1739 North High St, Columbus, Ohio 43210.

Speakers at the forum will describe evidence-based approaches for effective tobacco cessation for specific populations and discuss current policies in Ohio regarding tobacco and what changes could be made to reduce tobacco use.
