ACA marketplace launch smoother than last year

The ACA’s online insurance marketplace opened last weekend without the widespread computer problems that frustrated consumers last fall (Source: “HealthCare.gov working well in Ohio,” Dayton Daily News, Nov. 17, 2014).

Last year, just 248 Americans were able to sign up over the first two days of open enrollment on HealthCare.gov. On Sunday, officials with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said more than 100,000 people had submitted applications for health insurance on the first day of open enrollment.
