HPIO releases brief on health and disabilities in Ohio

HPIO has released a new brief titled “Health and disabilities basics: Overview of health coverage, programs and services” (pdf, 12 pages).

The brief is the first in the Health Policy Institute of Ohio’s three-part analysis of health and disability. In this installment, HPIO presents the current landscape of health coverage, programs and services for people with disabilities, including an overview  of the state entities that provide, coordinate and/or fund public services. The paper also explores demographics, eligibility criteria and scope issues.

The second brief, to be released later this year, will look at the challenges for people with disabilities in achieving optimal health and the third brief will examine current state and federal policies.
