Rep. Amstutz: General Assembly in ‘analytical mode’ on Medicaid expansion

According to Rep. Ron Amstutz, state legislators are in “analytical mode” when it comes to deciding whether to support expansion of Medicaid eligibility (Source: “‘We’re in an analytical mode’: Ohio weighs the Obamacare Medicaid expansion,” Washington Post Wonk Blog, March 13, 2013).

Amstutz is the Republican chair of the House Finance and Appropriations Committee, which will take the first vote on approving, tweaking or rejecting the 2014 budget that Gov. John Kasich has proposed, which includes funding for a Medicaid expansion.

“I mean, there are people who are pretty set on their general view of Obamacare, but I don’t think they’ve figured out how we go forward,” Amstutz said. “We’re in analytical mode.”
