Survey: Doctor use of EHRs spikes

A new national survey found that 74 percent of physicians are using electronic health record systems, up from 46 percent in January (Source: "Doctors get on electronic health record systems bandwagon," (Cincinnati) Business Courier, Sept. 4, 2012).

The survey, sponsored by website Medscape, found that an additional 8 percent of doctors are currently installing a system.

“The number of doctors stonewalling against EHRs has dropped, and people are getting on the bandwagon,” said Leslie Kane, executive editor of Medscape’s Business of Medicine division.
