Kasich’s Mid-Biennium Review plan includes health provisions

Among the policy provisions announced by Gov. John Kasich on Wednesday as part of his mid-budget review were several related to health policy (Source: “Kasich unveils long list of plans to change state,” Columbus Dispatch, March 15, 2012).

The mid-biennium review legislation includes requirements for hospitals to meet yet-to-be developed performance criteria to collect their full Medicaid payment for the care they provide. Also included is a proposal to allocate $3 million in additional funding for community mental-health services to help with high-cost patients.

The Governor’s Office of Health Transformation has created a page on its website that further details the administration’s health-related policies in the MBR.
