Administration applies for waiver to create Medicaid health homes

The Kasich Administration submitted a draft proposal in late December to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to coordinate care through Medicaid health homes for people with severe and persistent mental illness (Source: “State seeking more Medicaid waivers,” Columbus Dispatch, Dec. 30, 2011).

The plan calls for CMS to cover 90 percent of the cost of care coordination for those enrolled in a health home, with a 10-percent state match.
