State issues RFP for assistance with health benefits exchange planning

The Ohio Department of Administrative Services has issued an RFP for assistance with the first year of planning for the design and implementation of a health benefits exchange.

The Request for Proposals (pdf, 65 pages) calls for an agency that can assist the Ohio Department of Insurance and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Proposals are due by 1 p.m. on April 8.

Ohio is developing the insurance exchange by 2014 in compliance with Affordable Care Act. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight is providing funding for the project.
