Kaiser report outlines state Medicaid strategies for reform implementation

A new report from the Kaiser Family Foundation's Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured (KCMU) examines how state Medicaid agencies are preparing for a lead role in implementing the new health reform law while continuing to deal with the impact of the recession.

The authors of the report, titled State  Medicaid  Agencies  Prepare  for  Health  Care  Reform  While  Continuing  to  Face  Challenges   from  the  Recession (pdf, 10 pages),   interviewed state Medicaid directors in May to ascertain how states are addresses increased caseloads and weakened tax revenues because of the recession. The report also summarizes state strategies for preparing for reform implementation.
