Ohio to get $7.5 million in stimulus funds for vaccines for poor, uninsured

Ohio is in line for $7.5 million in federal stimulus money to provide vaccinations for poor and uninsured families (Source: “Ohio communities get stimulus money for child health care, vaccinations,” Dayton Daily News, April 12, 2009).

Vice President Joe Biden announced earlier this week that states would divide $2 billion to support
child care and vaccinations. Most of the funding is expected to be used to purchase vaccines distributed through a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention immunization program. Some funding will come in the form of grants to states that show innovative new ways to ensure more people receiving the shots they need.
