Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear launched an initiative to enroll more children in the states SCHIP program (KCHIP). The plan hopes to increase coverage for children by 35,000 by the end of 2011. Among the components of the new program are a new Web site, easier enrollment, improved efforts to retain children currently enrolled and significant education and outreach efforts.
