Online dialogue about HIT and privacy goes live

A Web site eliciting public input on Health IT and privacy concerns has gone live.

The National Academy of Public Administration, a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on good government, in partnership with AmericaSpeaks and Delib, has created TheNationalDialogue.org.  The site will be open for comments until Nov. 3.

According to material from the organization, “Thousands of experts, advocates and citizens are coming together to wrestle with a single important question: How can we balance the opportunities presented by new technologies with the need to safeguard citizens' privacy?”

Visitors to the site have the opportunity to share their own thoughts about health IT and privacy and can rate the ideas of others. The best ideas will “rise to the top” in real time, according to NAPA.  The results from the dialogue will be compiled into a report to the Federal CIO Council, Office of Management and Budget and the incoming Administration.
