Cincinnati organizations named an HHS chartered value exchange

Two Cincinnati-based organizations, Health Improvement Collaborative and HealthBridge, collectively have been named one of 11 “chartered value exchanges” by the federal Department of Health and Human Services (Source: “Cincinnati health groups join federal initiative,” Business Courier of Cincinnati, Aug. 4, 2008).

The value exchange designation means the organizations will be given access to physician-group level Medicare quality-of-care data. They also will be able to participate in a national Learning Network sponsored by the HHS Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

The 11 new exchanges join 14 original organizations that received the designation in February. The Cincinnati exchange is the first in Ohio.
