Microsoft, AT&T announce plans for national health information exchange

Covisint, Microsoft and AT&T announced Monday that they are creating a national health information exchange (Source: “AT&T, Covisint and Microsoft partner on eHealth initiative,” Healthcare IT News, June 23, 2008).

The eHealth initiative will allow consumers who use Microsoft HealthVault to share personal health information with authorized physicians and healthcare providers connected to AT&T Healthcare Community Online, a program that uses providers’ existing systems to enable the exchange of electronic healthcare data.
