CDC health reform meeting to be held in Mansfield on Feb. 19
A meeting highlighting health reform planning and what needs to be done at the local, state and federal level is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 in the Richland County Commissioners' courthouse offices. (Source: "Local doctors make Mansfield part of CDC health care reform meeting," News Journal, Feb. 15, 2008.) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, county commissioners, the Community Health Access Project, and Drs. Mark and Sarah Redding set up the meeting, which is one of 40 similar meetings to be held around the nation on how to reform the health care system.
Among the issues to be explored are:
- What are three important strategies that can be implemented across multiple sectors to improve health and promote healthy communities?
- For each strategy, identify the national, state or local public policy that must be passed to facilitate the implementation of the strategy.
- What is it really going to take to get these outcomes?
