Ohio Medicaid False Claims Act

Rep. Jim Hughes, R-Columbus, is sponsoring House Bill 355, the Ohio Medicaid False Claims Act, which would allow individuals to file civil suits on behalf of the state against anyone who knowingly defrauds the Medicaid program. "Individuals could file lawsuits on their own, or the state attorney general could get involved. If passed, Ohio could reap a 10% increase in its share of Medicaid recoveries."
