Strickland Administration continues to delay Medicaid rate increase
"The Strickland Administration filed rules this week that would continue delaying higher Medicaid reimbursement rates for hospitals." (Source: Gongwer Report, Jan. 16, 2007.) The rule filing extends the original emergency rule that postponed the statutory increase for hospitals. Other planned raises for community providers and dentists also remain on hold, while a measure that would allow disabled working adults to buy-in to Medicaid is still expected to go into effect in April. Finally, medical transportation provider MedCorp filed suit in the Lucas County Common Pleas Court against the state alleging Ohio's low Medicaid reimbursement rates violate federal and state laws.
