Ohio Medicaid recalibration on hold until April 2008

After last week's announcement that the 3.3% Medicaid reimbursement rate increase for doctors and providers will not take place January 1st, the governor's office also decided that a separate "recalibration" of Medicaid rates will be delayed until April 2008. (Source: "Who will pay for Medicaid?" Sundusky Register, Nov. 24, 2007.) The Ohio Hospital Association had requested the recalibration be postponed indefinitely, saying "it will cost hospitals $13 million (during 2008) in addition to the estimated $24 million they will lose from the delayed rate increase."  (Source: HEALTH e-NEWS Plus Newsletter, Nov. 21, 2007.)
