Ohio's HIT Work Detailed in Privacy and Security Report

The Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has released a review of 34 state health information technology (HIT) and exchange plans.  The report identifies privacy and security solutions for secure HIT exchange (AHRQ Press Release).

In the report, Ohio is listed among fifteen state who have "established some foundational components necessary for statewide electronic health information exchange development. These include states that have (1) identified and established a central body to coordinate HIE development; (2) appointed a governing body (board of directors); (3) established operating committees; and (4) completed a strategic plan or roadmap." The PDF of the report, titled Privacy and Security Solutions for Interoperable Health Information Exchange, is available for download.
