1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Ohio children and youth are experiencing significant mental health challenges. For some Ohio youth, these challenges are even more acute. Childhood mental health conditions can have long-term consequences, including an increased risk of chronic physical health conditions, continuing mental health problems and worse  employment outcomes in adulthood. Some factors present considerable mental health risks for certain groups of children and youth, while others have more widespread  effects.

Speakers will share child mental health prevalence data and discuss how mental health is influenced by factors such as smart phones and social media; housing instability and homelessness; and children services and foster care system involvement. Speakers will also highlight how their organizations are working to improve child mental health through addressing risk factors.
