HPIO hosted a webinar on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. to explore key themes from the 2019 Health Value Dashboard.

The Dashboard tracks Ohio’s progress toward health value by examining Ohio’s rank and trend performance relative to other states on population health, healthcare spending and the social drivers of health. The tool also highlights gaps in outcomes for some of Ohio’s most at-risk populations.

The Dashboard found that, in order to improve health value in Ohio, policymakers need to:

  • Create opportunities for all Ohio children to thrive
  • Invest upstream in employment, housing and transportation
  • Build and sustain a high-quality addiction prevention, treatment and recovery system

Speakers on the webinar discussed strategies (including those in the recently adopted state budget) that move Ohio toward achieving those goals.

Speakers include:

  • LeeAnne Cornyn, Director, Children’s Initiatives, Office of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine
  • Brie Lusheck, Deputy Director, Children’s Initiatives, Office of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine
  • Alisha Nelson, Director, RecoveryOhio
  • Kelan Craig, Director, Multifamily Housing, Ohio Housing Finance Agency
