Health and education are areas of significant focus for Ohio policymakers, representing 88 percent of Ohio’s biennial budget for state fiscal years 2018-2019. Please join us for a webinar wrapping up HPIO’s Connections between Education and Health policy brief series which highlights policy opportunities to improve both health and education outcomes. This webinar will include a short overview of the four briefs:

Guest speakers highlight relevant, new state-level initiatives:

  • Sarah Wickham, Senior Policy Advisor at the Ohio Department of Education, will discuss the school-based health care support toolkit, which was developed as a joint effort between the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Medicaid, Governor’s Office of Health Transformation, Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. She will also discuss how health fits into Ohio’s Strategic Plan for Education
  • Tia M Moretti, Director of Statewide Substance Use and Social Services, Office of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, will discuss the Drug Use Prevention Resource Guide developed for schools
