State Oral Health Plan Advisory Committee

Ohio’s 2023-2027 State Oral Health Plan is a roadmap to guide actions taken by policymakers, advocates, educators, providers, and funders. The plan includes objectives and strategies to improve oral health and overall health in Ohio. Oral Health Ohio contracted with HPIO to facilitate and create the State Oral Health Plan. 

The Advisory Committee will guide development of the State Oral Health Plan. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Selecting up to 25 quantitative metrics to include
  • Reviewing data and focus group findings and advising on the themes to include
  • Selecting strategies and recommendations
  • Guiding the creation of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) objectives and targets
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on the draft State Oral Health Plan

Virtual healthcare provider focus groups

HPIO and OHO hosted five virtual healthcare provider focus groups, seeking input from all types of healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses, mental health professionals and dental professionals to inform the State Oral Health Plan.

  • Wednesday, June 8: 4:00-5:00 PM

Oral Health Ohio (OHO) is a coalition of statewide partners who educate and advocate to improve Ohio’s oral and overall health. OHO has contracted with the Health Policy Institute of Ohio (HPIO) to facilitate and create the 2023-2027 State Oral Health Plan.  HPIO is an independent and nonpartisan organization with a mission to advance evidence-informed policies that improve health, achieve equity, and lead to sustainable healthcare spending in Ohio.
