Five years ago, the Affordable Care Act set out to comprehensively reform the American health care system by expanding health insurance coverage options and reducing health costs. How successful has the law been in meeting its primary goals? What have been the major outcomes and unintended consequences related to access, coverage, affordability, and market stability? What are the future policy implications of the law?
