Talk About Health is a program that offers four distinct event formats to encourage dialogue on the critical health care issues facing Ohioans. A variety of formats allows the Health Policy Institute of Ohio to adapt to the needs of the target audience, address the issue at hand in the most effective manner, and remain flexible and creative in sharing resources and information. All events, however, reflect the core principles of neutrality, balance, collaboration, and diversity.

Talk About Health is composed of the following four event formats:

  • Legislative Education Program: Provides a wide range of education/informational events for state legislators and their staffs concerning health policy and health care in Ohio;
  • Strategic Visioning Initiatives: A collaborative effort among leaders interested in a specific health-related area to come together in a longer-term effort to identify common goals, share information and resources, and move forward using systematic, collegial, and structured solution-building approaches;
  • Hot Topics in Health Series: A format designed to quickly address emerging, “hot,” or topical health-related issues that affect Ohioans;
  • Safe Harbor Policy Forums: An opportunity for public policymakers and stakeholders in Ohio to come together in neutral settings for off-the-record, objective dialogue where topics are analyzed through a “policy prism.”
