I am a practicing internist and Vice President of Medical Informatics (part-time) for The Medical Group of Ohio, a 2100-physician I.P.A. with providers in Central and South Central Ohio. We are based in Worthington and have a 50:50 joint venture PHO with Ohiohealth, our hospital partner.

My focus at the MGO has been in the following areas:

• Evaluating practice management software, making recommendations on products and negotiating group purchasing discounts for our practices

• Evaluating electronic medical records, making recommendations on products and negotiating group discounts on products for our practices

• Act as a liason between our organization and these vendors

• Chairing the physician committee responsible for helping Ohiohealth IS enhance their clinical results browser (ORB)

• Participate in the overall strategy development for MGO and Ohiohealth Information services

• Participate in the overall strategy of MGO in all other areas
